A few weeks ago, I escaped the Bubble with two dear friends to Lorraine's home village, a tiny place called Lochinver at the very north of Scotland.

For her 21st birthday, we joined her family and the locals at the pub for dozens of rounds of drinks and dancing till three in the morning. It was clear how very loved she is and what an amazing, close community there is in the village.

We ate pies, went for long walks, watched scary movies in a remote holiday cottage, messed around on an old piano, and drank coffee with an astonishing highland artist as he showed us round his gallery.

It was a lovely adventure.

On Saturday my girlfriends and I attended St Andrews' biggest charity fashion show.

We got dressed up, drank champagne, went crazy for the catwalk and danced in our heels until the wee hours.

a little film about summer

A little film of summer 2011, spent reading in the garden, gallivanting around the festival in Edinburgh, adventuring through Italy with the Boy, and dancing in the kitchen. Music by Tennis.

Exams over, we needed to get out of town and mess around outside.

We squished ourselves into a car and blasted Spandau Ballet all the way, armed with strawberry beer and cigarettes. Nothing better than sitting on a log and watching the sun set.

hello world

My name is Sophie and I'm a student at the beautiful St Andrews in the north of Scotland. I'm starting this wee blog to document my friends, travels and adventures. I like daffodils, dancing, long brunches, old books and new ideas.
